Chandigarh is India’s first planned city built in the early 1950s by the internationally renowned architect Le Corbusier. This pulsating city provides an ample of tourist destinations. It was the dream city of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru who had proclaimed Chandigarh to be "unfettered by the traditions of the past, a symbol of the nation's faith in the future." The main complex is the “Capitol Complex” which includes the State Secretariat, Assembly and High Court building.
